With Phase 1 of easing of restrictions successfully under way, it’s time to look at Phase 2

1. Does your business qualify to open in this phase?
- Small retail businesses with control of numbers – subject to Social Distancing
- Marts & Farmers Markets – subject to Social Distancing

2. What you need to do
- Plan to be put in place by Employer
- A risk assessment for the business, your employees and your customers
- Staff must keep 2 metre distancing
- Retailer must control number of individuals that staff and customers interact with at any one time.
- Hygiene & cleaning
- Compliance in higher risk situations
- Plan for medically vulnerable or pregnant people
- Shops to provide dedicated times for cocooners (over 70’s)
- Hand sanitiser and gloves to be made available
- Shoppers advised to wear face covering

3. Inspections are being carried out by Health & Safety Authority Inspectors – written risk assessment and plan

4. Check your insurance cover

5. If you have 2 or more staff, consider splitting into 2 teams – in the event of a staff member testing positive then only the members of that team have to quarantine which means business can continue with the other team.
